This picture reminds me of when we were in Florence and spent an afternoon wandering through the Uffizi. We kept having to dodge out of the way of tour groups, all doing about twice the speed of sound as they ricocheted down the hallways, the tour guide shouting wildy- “that’s a Corot, there’s a Michelangelo to your LEFT, and just around the corner –The Renaissance! Now everybody run, because we have 12 minutes to do the 17th and 18th centuries! RUN, DAMMIT!” (except in Italian, of course. It all sounds very artistic in Italian).
colonel: In the Islamic Art section of the Louvre, it is quiet, cool, dark & uncrowded. As we approached the wing housing the Big Three, we could hear the noise level rise, the temperature rose also, and it became bright & crowded. I almost gave up on La Giaconda, except I knew I would never go back for her. Escaping through the Dutch & Flemish masters, we found sumptuous, empty galleries.
I took these photos with my Lumix camera. It has a Leica lens. Laika was the first dog in space. Dogs In Space is an Australian film made in 1986. My friend Fiona played Barbara the Socialist. Now my friend Miss Simons lives two doors from the house where Dogs In Space was shot in Melbourne. I just sold the Dogs In Space R-rated soundtrack LP on eBay for $26.
