This is a cross section of one of the lengths of the Berlin Wall that still stands. I was surprised that the Wall wasn't taller and thicker. It takes so little to make division.
This photo is haunting ... I was going to write something snarky but all I can think of is watching people get shot at that wall, which then gives way to the memories of it being torn down.
I remember all the time I was growing up, it was a part of the "present", and all one dared do was hope that sometime within one's lifetime it might come down. Then one day, so it seemed, "poof"! it was torn down by the people themselves.
It has always amazed me that it fell so quickly, so peacefully, and that nobody really saw it all coming very far in advance.
I keep hoping that will be some sort of paradigm for Bush's career trajectory, but so far, no good.
I'm concerned about the invisible divisions erected by this foul government. Our country was once vast and inclusive. How small & narrow we have become in eleven years, how fervently we hope for regime change before the end of the year.
I took these photos with my Lumix camera. It has a Leica lens. Laika was the first dog in space. Dogs In Space is an Australian film made in 1986. My friend Fiona played Barbara the Socialist. Now my friend Miss Simons lives two doors from the house where Dogs In Space was shot in Melbourne. I just sold the Dogs In Space R-rated soundtrack LP on eBay for $26.

They're getting to echo Reagan across the border in Mexico: Mr. Bush, tear down this wall!
O.K. Catalyst, you dumb ass. What I mean to say was "They're getting ready to echo Reagan . . ."
Sheesh!

Hey we are trying to build a wall just like that across our southern border. Is there any more of that old Berlin Wall around? Maybe we could use it.
Mike ... you know as well as I do, one of Dick Cheney's companies is making our wall.
I think keeping it up is a good thing. Never let the people forget.
Where you at, my crackah?
