naming names

In the bush it's important to know the names of things, as proven by my last post. This time, I know what the pond is called. Do you?

I WANT A WOMBAT POOL!!!

Failing that, I'll just take a sign that says WOMBAT POOL.

Where are the wombats on floating rafts?

While reading about the Wombat Pool, I found a new animal to love - the pademelon. Wombats, pademelons, wallabys...You Aussies have all of the good animals.

Of course naked ... there's something highly exciting about letting the wombats see my naughty bits!

If it was named in the Great Australian Naming Tradition, it should have been called Shallow Pond. Or Watery Pool.

chickie: Pademelon post for you next. (And I bet you didn't know you knew an Aboriginal word).

malach: It should be everybody's kind of place.

sara sue: They'd love it.

anaglyph: I wonder if the namers were familiar with the marine abilities of wombats.

I thought it was a place where Wombats originated. Kinda like Gene Pool, y'know?
