Whenever anyone says to me "...and Bob's your uncle", I reply "Yes he is." You see, dear readers, I have an uncle Bob. He is a sheep farmer. And my reply is one of the many endearing things about me that drive my friends up the wall. Even comparative strangers have been sent into fits by my inane reply.
Last week I was visiting the farm, and my Uncle Bob casually said to me "... and Bob's your uncle." I was rendered speechless. I hereby swear on the Nets that I will never say "Yes he is" again.

I've never really understood the "Bob's your uncle" phrase. I thought it was maybe because I was lacking an Uncle Bob. I felt quite deprived. I would have liked to have answered "yes, he is."
I think the first time a friend says "Bob's your uncle" to you, and you don't answer, "yes, he is," your friend will become quite worried and fear the world is off its axis. We come to rely on these little sillinesses. I hope you reconsider.
The full quote is "Bob's your uncle, Fanny's your aunt". And you know what 'fanny' means here Down Under. Not 'bottom' that's for sure.

Wiki tells me the expression is used "mainly in Britain and Commonwealth countries." Ah! It warms my heart to remember we are part of the Commonwealth of Nations. So we get to compete in the Commonwealth Games (formerly the British Empire Games) and win all the medals because the US can't compete. Huzzah!

It is funny that you say in the previous comment that you and Sara are the same person. I had a Crazy dream the other night that you both were the same person. You were some sort of loon living next door to my Mom's house in Oklahoma and you could fly. And you were a man.
I don't know where that shit came from in my mind. I really don't find either of you manly.
I started to blog about the dream but thought that you two might be offended but feel compelled to mention it after seeing that comment.
