introducing Furry

Oskar was a dog among dogs, an individual, distinctive, attentive, clever, loving animal.
Furry comes to us from a rescue shelter, too. He is a dog of a different stripe. Initially unsure of his place, fearful that he wouldn't be fed, wanting to be part of the pack, but unable to meet our eyes. Now, thanks to the loving home he inhabits, he's a feisty, humorous, hairy firecracker. He loves the beach, and hangin' with his gang. He has many admirers, and is trying hard to figure out going to the cafe. You'd like him. And he would like to sit on your lap.

hairy nudeness

In my drawing class we've had nude ladies and nude men (some of them were even our models). Last night we had a nude dog. This is Iggy. And this drawing technique is called 'blind contour', where you look only at the subject, not at the paper. I find it very freeing, because then it's not my fault that the drawing doesn't look like the dog.
(And, yes, I did draw his feet - about seven or eight of them - but the paper is larger than my scanner)
